If you happen to be like me, then you know getting your good night sleep is key if you want to guarantee being a productive member of society for the rest of the day!
One way you can achieve this is by creating a sleeping routine. You might be thinking to yourself: does this mean I am an old prune? NO, it just means that you need to organize your schedule so that you can get enough sleep to function right throughout the day!
We all know there can be some serious consequences to our health if we don’t get as much sleep as we should. But, are we having certain habits that are sabotaging our sleeping routines? Here are some of the mistakes you may be making.
Having a not so light dinner
Don’t get me wrong. You should not go to bed without having dinner but, that does not mean you are going to have a gigantic T-bone steak 30 minutes before going to sleep right? You will probably stay up all night going from side to side in your bed as your body is trying to correctly digest all that dinner you had.
Smoking a cigarette before going to sleep
I honestly don’t know what else to say or do to get through to people. Smoking kills and it is simply JUST BAD. Why would you actually think that you are going to get a benefit out of a cigarette by smoking one right before going to bed to calm your nerves? Please!
You leave your T.V. on
Some people actually say that they cannot fall asleep unless they have their T.V. on but, I simply don’t understand this as that T.V. light actually makes the body stay awake and aware. So, in most cases, it would be recommended to turn off all lights and just leave whatever light it is necessary on as the body will understand it is time to get some much needed soul cleansing rest.
